Sex-Trafficking

There are approximately twenty-seven million slaves, mostly made up of young boys and girls, in this world that are fighting for their innocence as well as their lives everyday. The problem is that they cannot fight back even though they might want to and that this lucrative business is illegal. Boys and girls from five to eighteen years of age are being kidnapped to serve as slaves to those who are cold-hearted. Because this has not affected us in any kind of way, we do not take notice to the issue at hand. We do not notice the severity that also goes along with this secretive and cruel “business”. There are many reasons why people kidnap children and use them anyway that they want to. But the main two reasons are to pay off a debt or to just earn money because they are in a tough situation. And while they are making their money and enjoying their pleasure, the young boys and girls are suffering, wanting to escape but cannot. I feel that if more people new about what trafficking actually did to the victims then someone would try to do something about it.

Sex-Trafficking, or human-trafficking, is wrong in every aspect. Slavery was banned a long time ago and it is wrong for it to continue in this manner. There is no explanation or excuse on why sex-trafficking is acceptable. The victims suffer as they are sold and re-sold from trafficker to trafficker. They go through mental, emotional, and physical abuse on a daily bases. If they do not meet the quota of how much money they are supposed to make then they are abused. If they talk back or try to run away then they are abused as well.  The victims are forced into prostitution, forced to commit sexual acts for pornography, or mislead the victims into debt bondage. They get the victims addicted to drugs so that they can stay awake to be able to sleep with up to twenty or more men at night. These are young boys and girls that we are talking about. Even when the victims are free they are left with STDs, tuberculosis, and permanent damage to their reproductive systems. They may even continue to be prostitutes and may have post-traumatic stress disorder.

The victims are sometimes shipped over seas and they are surrounded by different people and different languages. So if they tried to escape they would have no where to escape to. To ensure that the victims are safe, TVPA is put into play. TVPA, Trafficking Victims Protection Act, makes sure that they are safe and that they go into any program that is needed for whatever problem they are having. Even though this “business” will continue for a while in the future, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is on the look out for traffickers. It is their responsibility to bring in the traffickers and find somewhere for the victims to reside in. There are many other programs for victims all around the world.

It is very difficult for some people to talk about sex-trafficking so many people ignore it, and do not address the issue. But it is time for these victims story to be told and it is time for people to stand up to them. Sometimes, people judge prostitutes and say that they can get out of the situation if they wanted to, but we do not know the problems and trials that they had to go through as children. Most of them have been robbed of their childhood because instead of playing tag or hide-and-go-seek, they had to allow hundreds or thousands of men on top of them. Yes, the United States is creating new laws against sex-trafficking, but they need to be implemented. We need to reach out instead of judging. I feel that by people addressing this issue more, there will be something done about the illegal slave trade that is going on.

Happy New Year !!

My new year's resolution for 2013 is to become a better person as far as being open and open-minded. I chose this resolution because last year people kept telling me that I was to quiet and that I was not an easy person to open up. I feel that if I am more open this year then a lot of oppurtunities will come for me. Another resolution for 2013 is to focus on my education and to make sure that I do everything in my power to graduate and go to a great college. I need to make sure that I do not get disracted and keep my head on straight. I believe that I will keep these resolutions because it is all in your mind on what you want to do. You also have to have positive people around you at all times and I definatly have the right people to support me. I do have the mind set to make sure that I go through with all of my resolutions and I believe that I will.

My Favorite Meal

My favorite meal has beans in it. It has a taste that kicks you in the throat. It smells of spices and seasoned meat. It takes forty to forty five minutes to make it. The color is red. My favorite dessert includes common aphrodisiac that everyone loves. I have cravings for it all of the time. My favorite drink is very strong and clear. It would take you to certain heights that you could not imagine.

A cure for minor cases of Alzheimers.

Eli Lilly experiment on the Alzheimers disease may have potential to cure minor cases of this disease. But the experiment will have to continue on for a few more years because everything is not yet taken care of yet. This is something very huge. I never thought of finding a cure for this disease. When they do this would be very great because my great grandmother has Alzheimers. It is vey hard to have to tell her my name and who I am everytime that I visit her or she visits me. This is something very touching to me and people who have it or know people that have the disease. I just hope that the process is done and done in a timely manner.

Christmas !!!

Christmas is almost here, just one more week. I am so excited for the Christmas break. I am going to my father's house to relax and spend his money lol. I am going to enjoy this break and I hope that it goes by really slowly. Everyone needs a break and as a Senior my breaks to come fast but last long. I am not sure on what I want for Christmas just yet but I do know I will shop until I cannot shop anymore. What are your plans for Christmas break? What do you want for Christmas?

Where is the iPhone T-Mobile ?

Ok, so I have T-Mobile for my service and I really love it. But I would love it more if they had the iPhone 5 right now. I am able to get it but it is taking forever to come out. My plan is great and I like the service that is given, all I want is for the iPhone 5 to come out. Some say that it is coming out on Christmas day but some say that it is coming out in January. I guess it is all in being patient because I do want to make sure that everything is done correctly so that nothing goes wrong with the phone when it does come out.

If I had 3 Wishes.....

1. My first wish would to have all of my college expenses paid for, including law school. I want this wish so that all I have to worry about is keeping my grades up and having fun. I think that this is a great wish because I want to go to Wake Forest University. This is a private college and they are very expensive. Having this wish granted would get a lot of stress off of my shoulders. And law school is not cheap either.

2. My second wish would be to be very rich. I would like to help all of my family out with anything and that would only happen if I had a lot of money to allow that to happen. I would like for all of family members to live a very comfortable lifestyle. This would make me a very happy person.

3. My last wish would to be able to travel all around the world. I want to travel all over the world to be able to experience a little of everything. I always move around so I don't just want to stay in the same place. I also want my children to experience the same exact thing.
